Randonnée - Hike Hunter Creek Trail Sun. Oct. 18th, 2026

The Alliance Française de Reno is organizing a series of casual walks (Randonnée) for all ages and fitness levels. These hikes will take place in our beautiful surrounding areas, promoting a healthy lifestyle and fostering community spirit.

HIKE: Hunter Creek Trailhead

Distance: 5.5 miles

Dénivelé: 1,000 ft

MEET: 10 am at the trailhead parking

Description:

Situated just outside Reno, the Hunter Creek trail is a popular hiking destination. A beautiful 30-foot waterfall is located at the trail’s end, great for relaxing or dipping your toes in cold water. The trail is well-marked is suitable for any beginner hiker.

At the trailhead, visitors will find a parking area and restrooms. Make sure to bring sunscreen, water, snacks and a pique-nique.

Getting there: 

Directions from Reno: Take 80 East to McCarran

North Exit. Go south on McCarran Blvd and

make a right on Mayberrry Rd. Turn left on

Plateau Rd, turn right on Woodchuck Dr., and

follow it until it dead ends at the trailhead.

Time: 10:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm, including time for a BYO (Bring Your Own) picnic lunch AND beverages.
