Ciné-Club!

The Alliance Française de RenoTahoe is thrilled to welcome you to our Ciné-Club where we screen acclaimed movies from all over the French-speaking world.

Watching a movie in French and chatting with other guests is an excellent way for you to practice or maintain your French language.

Le Comte de Monte-Cristo (The Count of Monte Cristo) refers to both the classic 19th-century French adventure novel by Alexandre Dumas and recent film adaptations, most notably the 2024 French movie starring Pierre Niney, which tells the story of Edmond Dantès, a sailor wrongly imprisoned who escapes and seeks revenge as the wealthy Count.

The novel, published in 1844-46, is a tale of betrayal, justice, and elaborate revenge, exploring themes of fate, freedom, and social injustice, with the 2024 film bringing this epic story to a modern audience with stunning visuals and action. 

The film received a total of 5 wins and 18 nominations total.

Perenn At The Museum Before the screening, enjoy Perren's Cafe, bakery + viennoiserie serving an all day counter service brunch menu. Guests can enjoy inside the café or venture into the museum’s atrium or patio for a relaxed dining experience. Tuesday-Sunday 8am-2:30pm
